ArSSAr
ArSSAr is a shorthand used in chemistry to denote diaryl disulfide compounds, consisting of two aryl groups connected by a disulfide bond: Ar–S–S–Ar. The aryl groups (denoted Ar) are typically phenyl or substituted phenyl rings. When the same aryl group is present on both sides, the molecule is symmetric; with different aryl groups, it is asymmetric. The class includes a wide range of derivatives used in synthesis and materials science. A common example is diphenyl disulfide (PhSSPh).
