Anthropoloogia
Anthropoloogia is the broad study of humanity, encompassing its biological and cultural aspects, across all times and places. It is a holistic discipline that seeks to understand what makes humans human. The field is typically divided into four main sub-disciplines: cultural anthropology, archaeology, linguistic anthropology, and biological or physical anthropology. Cultural anthropology examines the beliefs, practices, and social structures of human societies, often through ethnographic fieldwork. Archaeology investigates past human cultures through the excavation and analysis of material remains. Linguistic anthropology explores the relationship between language and human behavior, and how language shapes thought and culture. Biological anthropology focuses on the evolution of humans, their biological variation, and their relationship to other primates. Anthropologists use a variety of research methods, including participant observation, interviews, surveys, excavation, and genetic analysis. The discipline's aim is to provide a comprehensive understanding of human diversity and commonalities, past and present.
