Anterioristen refers to a group within the early Christian church, primarily active in the 4th century, who adhered to a doctrine known as Ante-Nicene theology. This school of thought emerged in opposition to the prevailing Arianism, which questioned the full divinity of Jesus Christ. Anterioristen, in contrast, strongly affirmed the co-essential and co-eternal nature of the Son with the Father.
