Andmehulgas

Andmehulgas is a term used in linguistic fiction and constructed language projects to denote a hypothetical language family and the languages that belong to it. It is not attested in real-world language history, and there is no scholarly consensus outside fictional contexts. Within worldbuilding and conlang communities, Andmehulgas is portrayed as spoken in a fictional highland region of the Andmehulga archipelago, with several dialects that evolved from a common ancestor.

Etymology and classification: The name derives from fictional toponyms in the setting, and the language family is presented as part of a larger genealogical scheme in which Andmehulgas languages branch from a proto-Andmehul. The concept serves as a flexible scaffold for exploring historical language change and contact in a controlled, imaginative framework.

Linguistic profile: Most described varieties share an SOV (subject–object–verb) base order, robust agglutinative morphology, and vowel harmony. The phoneme inventory commonly includes a set of plosives and fricatives with a voiceless–voiced contrast, and syllable structures of CV or CVC.
