Anacyclus
Anacyclus is a genus of flowering plants in the daisy family, Asteraceae. These plants are native to the Mediterranean region. Species within this genus are commonly known as Morocco daisies or spur daisies. They are typically herbaceous perennials or annuals, characterized by their finely divided, often feathery foliage. The flower heads are solitary and resemble those of common daisies, with white ray florets surrounding a yellow or sometimes reddish disc. A distinguishing feature of Anacyclus flowers is the presence of a small spur at the base of the ray florets, which gives them one of their common names. The fruits are achenes, often with a pappus, which aids in their dispersal. Anacyclus species are generally adapted to dry, well-drained soils and full sun. Some species are cultivated for their ornamental value in rock gardens and borders. Historically, certain species have been used in traditional medicine.
