Amrita

Amrita is a Sanskrit term that means immortality or nectar of immortality. The word is often translated as amṛta, signifying a divine drink that confers eternal life, and it appears across Hindu religious literature and Indian cultural usage. As a name, Amrita is common in South Asia for people and places.

In Hindu mythology, amrita refers to the elixir of immortality produced during the churning of the Ocean of Milk (samudra manthan) by the gods (devas) and demons (asuras).
