Amon-Re, also Amun-Ra or Amen-Ra, is the combined form of Amun, the ancient Egyptian god of air, hiddenness, and kingship, with Ra, the sun god. In this syncretic identity, Amun-Ra represents the fusion of hidden power and solar vitality and is regarded as one of the most important deities in ancient Egyptian religion. In many periods he was conceived as the king of the gods and the creator deity, embodying both distant cosmic forces and daily divine operations.
