Alumiinifilmiä

Alumiinifilmiä, often referred to as aluminum foil in English, is a thin sheet of aluminum that is manufactured by passing aluminum through a rolling mill. This process creates a material that is very thin, flexible, and often has two different finishes: one dull and one shiny. The shininess comes from the final pass of the rolling mill, where two sheets are rolled together; the side in contact with the polished roller becomes shiny, while the side in contact with the other sheet remains dull.

Alumiinifilmiä is widely used in various applications due to its unique properties. Its impermeability to light, oxygen, water vapor, and bacteria makes it an excellent material for food packaging and preservation, helping to keep food fresh for longer periods.
