AllFaðir

AllFaðir is a prominent figure in Norse mythology, most commonly identified with the god Odin. The name itself translates to "All-Father" or "Father of All," signifying his supreme position within the Æsir pantheon. He is depicted as the ruler of Asgard, the celestial realm, and the leader of the Æsir gods.

Odin is associated with a multitude of domains. He is the god of wisdom, poetry, war, death, and magic. His relentless pursuit of knowledge is legendary, famously sacrificing an eye to drink from the Well of Mimir to gain profound wisdom. He is also known for his role in the afterlife, receiving fallen warriors in Valhalla, his grand hall.

His appearance is often described as a one-eyed, aged man with a long beard, clad in a grey cloak and wearing a wide-brimmed hat. He is frequently accompanied by his two ravens, Huginn (thought) and Muninn (memory), who fly across the world gathering information for him. Odin also has two wolves, Geri and Freki, and rides his eight-legged horse, Sleipnir.

The worship of Odin was widespread among the Germanic peoples. He was invoked for victory in battle, for inspiration in poetry and art, and for guidance in matters of life and death. While his central role is evident in the Eddas and other Norse sagas, interpretations of his character and significance have evolved over time.
