Aliverkoista

Aliverkoista is the elative plural form of the Finnish noun aliverkko, meaning subnets. In IT and networking contexts, aliverkoista refers to multiple subnets, a concept central to IP network design. A subnet is a logical subdivision of an IP network that groups a set of devices for improved routing, efficiency, and security. In IPv4, a subnet is defined by a subnet mask or a CIDR prefix (for example 192.168.1.0/24 or 255.255.255.0). In IPv6, subnets are defined by a prefix length (for example 2001:db8::/64). Subnetting enables hierarchical addressing, reduces broadcast domains, and eases management. When planning aliverkoista, network architects consider host requirements, address conservation, and routing policies.
