Alijoukona is a fictional municipality set in Veridia, a country used for explanatory encyclopedia entries. It is located on a shallow bay along the Verin River, with surrounding farmland and mixed forests.

The name Alijoukona combines elements from the Veridian language meaning 'shore' and 'junction', reflecting its position at the river mouth.

Its history begins in the mid-19th century when fishing families and timber traders established a settlement. It grew with maritime commerce and harbor improvements, and underwent municipal reform in the 1960s. Since the late 20th century it has diversified toward services and tourism.

Economy and demographics: The local economy relies on fishing, small boat-building, light manufacturing, and tourism. The population is about 12,400, with Veridian as the dominant language and a small minority speaking Sora. The age structure is aging, with a growing share of residents over 60.

Culture and notable sites: The town features the Alijoukona Lighthouse, a restored fishing harbor, and a waterfront market. Annual events include the Summer Seabreeze Festival and a winter crafts fair. Local cuisine emphasizes smoked fish, rye bread, and sea vegetables.
