Seabreeze is a meteorological term describing a coastal wind system that develops when land warms more quickly than adjacent sea water. During the day, differential heating causes air over the land to rise, creating a relatively low-pressure area that draws cooler air from over the sea toward the shore. The resulting onshore wind, known as the sea breeze, typically strengthens in the afternoon and weakens after sunset.
