Alheiras
Alheiras are a type of Portuguese sausage, distinct for their composition which traditionally includes game meat, bread, and spices. Unlike many other sausages, alheiras are not made with pork. Instead, they often feature ingredients such as fowl, rabbit, or game like wild boar, mixed with breadcrumbs and seasoned with garlic, bay leaf, and other aromatic herbs. The mixture is then stuffed into casings and typically smoked or cured.
