Alappillérek

Alappillérek is a term used in some architectural contexts, particularly in historical or vernacular building traditions. It refers to the foundational piers or supports that form the base of a larger structure. These alappillérek are distinct from a continuous foundation wall and are typically placed at intervals to bear the weight of the building above. Their design and construction vary widely depending on local materials, climate, and the type of building they support.

Historically, alappillérek might have been constructed from stone, brick, or even timber posts, often embedded into the ground to provide stability. The space between these piers could be left open, filled with rubble, or enclosed with a wattle-and-daub infill, depending on the desired level of protection from the elements and vermin.
