Akuma, meaning "demon" in Japanese, is a recurring character in Capcom's Street Fighter fighting game series. He is depicted as a powerful warrior driven by a desire to hone his fighting skills through combat against strong opponents, often embracing a dark, destructive path. Akuma is renowned for his Satsui no Hado, a spiritual energy that corrupts its user, granting immense power at the cost of their humanity.

First appearing in Super Street Fighter II Turbo as a hidden boss character, Akuma quickly became a fan favorite due to his intense fighting style and menacing aura. His signature moves include the "Gohadoken," a powerful projectile, and the "Shun Goku Satsu" (or "Raging Demon"), a devastating grab attack.
