Aivastamista

Aivastamista, often referred to as sneezing, is an involuntary expulsion of air from the lungs through the nose and mouth. It is a reflex action typically triggered by irritation of the nasal mucous membranes. Common irritants include dust, pollen, animal dander, and strong odors. A sneeze helps to clear the nasal passages of these foreign particles, thus protecting the respiratory system.

The process of aivastamista involves several stages. First, a deep inhalation occurs, followed by the forceful closure of the glottis (the vocal cords). The abdominal and chest muscles then contract, building up pressure within the lungs. Finally, the glottis is suddenly opened, resulting in a rapid expulsion of air, carrying with it any irritants present in the nasal cavity. The characteristic sound of a sneeze is a result of this rapid airflow.

While generally a harmless bodily function, aivastamista can be associated with certain conditions. Allergies, such as hay fever, frequently cause increased sneezing as the body reacts to allergens. Viral infections, like the common cold or flu, also often lead to sneezing as a symptom. In some cases, frequent or persistent sneezing can be a sign of a more specific nasal irritation or sensitivity. The act of aivastamista expels droplets containing mucus and potentially pathogens, which is why covering one's mouth and nose is recommended to prevent the spread of illness.
