Aikalausmaiset

Aikalausmaiset is a Finnish term that translates roughly to "time-scale creatures" or "temporal beings." It refers to hypothetical entities that exist or operate across different scales of time, either by perceiving time differently than humans, by existing in multiple temporal dimensions simultaneously, or by being able to manipulate temporal flow. The concept often appears in science fiction and speculative fiction, exploring the philosophical and existential implications of such beings.

These entities might experience moments stretched into eons or compress vast epochs into fleeting instants. Their consciousness could be distributed across their past, present, and future, leading to a non-linear understanding of causality and existence. For instance, an aikalausmainen might remember its future actions or witness events that have not yet occurred for linear observers. The nature of their physicality is also often left ambiguous, as their temporal existence might transcend conventional spatial dimensions.
