Adipotsüütide
Adipotsüütide, also known as brown fat or beige fat, is a type of fat tissue found in mammals, including humans. Unlike white adipose tissue, which stores energy in the form of triglycerides, brown fat is specialized for heat production. It contains a high concentration of mitochondria, which are the powerhouses of the cell, and is rich in uncoupling proteins, which dissipate the energy produced by mitochondria as heat rather than storing it.
Brown fat is most abundant in newborns and hibernating animals, but it can also be found in
The activation of brown fat is thought to play a role in energy expenditure and metabolism regulation.
