Adatbázistervezési is the Hungarian term for database design. It encompasses the process of creating a blueprint for a database, defining its structure, relationships, and constraints to ensure efficient data storage, retrieval, and management. This process typically involves several stages, starting with understanding the requirements of the intended users and applications.

The initial phase involves conceptual design, where the main entities and their attributes are identified. This is often represented using entity-relationship diagrams (ERDs). Following this is the logical design, where the conceptual model is translated into a specific database model, such as a relational model. Here, tables, columns, primary keys, and foreign keys are defined.

The physical design stage focuses on the implementation details, considering factors like storage structures, indexing strategies, and performance optimization specific to the chosen database management system (DBMS). Normalization is a crucial technique employed throughout logical and physical design to reduce data redundancy and improve data integrity.
