Abendtyp
Abendtyp, in chronobiology, is a term used to describe a chronotype characterized by a preference for later wake and bedtimes and peak performance and alertness in the late afternoon or evening. People identified as Abendtyp typically report that mornings are difficult, they feel more energetic as the day progresses, and they may experience a sleep phase delayed relative to the societal norm.
In German-language literature, Abendtyp is contrasted with Morgenmensch (morning person) and with intermediäre chronotype between extremes.
Typical characteristics include delayed sleep onset, a tendency to wake up later, preference for evening activities,
Age influences chronotype: eveningness is more common in adolescence and young adulthood and tends to decrease
