ASIAISCoSklasszifikáció

ASIAISCoSklass is a proposed integrative framework for spinal cord injury assessment that aims to harmonize the AIS (American Spinal Injury Association Impairment Scale) with the ISCoS (International Standards for Neurological Classification of Spinal Cord Injury) guidelines. The goal is to provide a unified coding scheme that captures neurological level, impairment, and sensory-motor function in a single, interpretable label. It would build on established AIS and ISCoS definitions while offering crosswalks between scales to facilitate communication across clinics and research settings.

The framework envisions a composite code that includes AIS grade A–E, the recorded neurological level, and standardized sensory scores for key modalities (light touch and pinprick) as well as targeted motor scores, plus descriptors of autonomic and functional status. It would produce outputs useful for prognosis, rehabilitation planning, and outcome reporting.

ASIAISCoSklass remains a conceptual proposal rather than an adopted standard. Its practical value depends on formal validation of reliability, feasibility in clinical workflows, and consensus among professional bodies. If validated, it could improve comparability of data across centers and studies and support clearer communication with patients. Implementation would require clear guidelines, training, and validation studies.
