AMPP

AMPP, short for the Association for Materials Protection and Performance, is a global nonprofit organization focused on corrosion prevention, protective coatings, and materials protection. The association develops and maintains standards, provides education and certification, and serves as a knowledge hub for professionals defending assets from corrosion and degradation. Its work spans industries such as energy, infrastructure, manufacturing, and transportation.

AMPP was formed through the merger of NACE International and SSPC: The Society for Protective Coatings. The combined organization consolidated standards development and certification programs under one umbrella and operates worldwide.

AMPP's activities and programs include developing standards and recommended practices for corrosion prevention and protective coatings, administering professional certifications for inspectors, technicians, and allied professionals, offering training courses, webinars, and conferences, and publishing technical documents and journals. The organization also hosts conferences and exhibitions that bring together industry stakeholders to share best practices and new technologies.

In addition to standards and education, AMPP supports a global community of practitioners through committees and regional chapters, providing resources for career development and professional recognition. The organization is headquartered in Houston, Texas, and is governed by a board of directors, with operations and activities carried out via its global network and governance structures. AMPP’s work supports safety, reliability, and performance across sectors that rely on durable materials and effective corrosion control.
