The object was first observed on 2 July 2005 by the LINEAR survey at Socorro, New Mexico, and was subsequently numbered by the Minor Planet Center. Its provisional designation is 2005 QH1. The asteroid orbits the Sun with a semi-major axis of about 2.5 astronomical units. The orbit has a relatively modest eccentricity of 0.12, bringing the object between 1.98 AU at perihelion and 3.07 AU at aphelion. Its orbital period is approximately 4.2 Earth years, and the inclination with respect to the ecliptic is modest, around 3 degrees.
