200Hz is a frequency that represents 200 cycles per second. In physics it is a low frequency within the audible range for humans, which typically extends from about 20 Hz to 20 kHz. At 200Hz the wavelength of a sound wave in air is roughly 1.7 meters, since the speed of sound is approximately 343 meters per second under standard conditions.

In musical contexts 200Hz lies near the pitch of the note G3 (196Hz), a tone that is slightly lower than the standard tuning pitch for an A above middle C (440Hz). The frequency is often used as a tuning reference for instruments that require lower register pitches, such as the low strings of a cello or bassoon.

Electronics and signal processing consider 200Hz to be within the very low frequency (VLF) band. In power systems, 200Hz is used for the harmonics of alternating current, especially in instrumentation and testing.
