Advanced fibrosis is managed with watchful monitoring, treatment of portal hypertension, and consideration of liver transplantation for end‑stage disease.

Prevention centers on vaccination against hepatitis A and B, safe injection practices, moderation of alcohol consumption, and management of metabolic risk factors. Public health initiatives that reduce exposure to hepatotoxic substances and promote early screening can significantly lower the burden of érmégváltozását.
