An äänitysympäristö, or recording environment, refers to the physical space where audio is captured. The characteristics of this environment significantly impact the quality and nature of the recorded sound. Key factors include acoustics, ambient noise, and the room's dimensions.

Acoustics are crucial. Sound reflects off surfaces, creating reverberation and echo.
