Õhupillide

Õhupillide, also known as air guns or pellet guns, are firearms that propel projectiles through the air by means of compressed air or gas. Unlike conventional firearms that rely on gunpowder combustion, õhupillide use a mechanical or pneumatic system to generate the force needed to launch a pellet or BB. They are typically used for recreational shooting, target practice, and pest control.

The power and velocity of õhupillide can vary significantly depending on their design and power source. Spring-piston air guns are a common type, where a spring is compressed and then released to drive a piston, which in turn forces air through a barrel to propel the projectile. CO2 powered air guns utilize a small cartridge of compressed carbon dioxide to provide the propellant. More powerful models, often referred to as PCP (pre-charged pneumatic) air guns, store a large volume of compressed air in a reservoir, allowing for multiple shots at high power.

Ammunition for õhupillide generally consists of pellets, which are typically made of lead and have various shapes and sizes, or BBs, which are small, spherical projectiles. The type of ammunition used can affect the accuracy and performance of the air gun.
