Õhksoojuspumpad

Õhksoojuspumpad are devices that transfer thermal energy from one location to another, typically from the outside air to the inside of a building. They function similarly to air conditioners but can also provide heating. The core components of an õhksoojuspump include an outdoor unit containing a compressor and an evaporator, and an indoor unit with a condenser and a fan. In cooling mode, the system absorbs heat from the indoor air and releases it outside. In heating mode, the process is reversed, extracting heat from the outside air, even at low temperatures, and transferring it indoors.

The efficiency of õhksoojuspumpad is measured by their Seasonal Performance Factor (SPF) for heating and their Energy Efficiency Ratio (EER) for cooling. Higher SPF and EER values indicate greater efficiency. These systems are considered an environmentally friendly heating and cooling solution as they primarily use electricity to move heat rather than generate it, leading to reduced greenhouse gas emissions compared to traditional heating methods like fossil fuel furnaces. Installation typically involves connecting the indoor and outdoor units with refrigerant lines and electrical wiring. Regular maintenance, such as cleaning filters and checking refrigerant levels, is recommended to ensure optimal performance and longevity. Different types exist, including split systems, ducted systems, and ductless mini-splits, offering flexibility for various building designs and needs.
