Ångerköp is a Swedish term that translates to "regret purchase" or "buyer's remorse." It describes the feeling of regret or dissatisfaction a consumer experiences after making a purchase. This can occur for various reasons, such as the item not meeting expectations, realizing it was an unnecessary expense, or simply a change of mind after the transaction.

In Sweden, consumers have a legal right to withdraw from certain types of purchases under specific conditions, known as the "ångerrätt." This right typically applies to distance contracts, such as online shopping or purchases made over the phone, and provides a cooling-off period during which the buyer can return the item without needing to provide a reason. The duration of this period is usually 14 days, starting from the day the consumer receives the goods.

However, the ångerrätt does not apply to all purchases. For instance, custom-made goods, perishable items, or sealed media like CDs and DVDs that have been opened are often exempt. For in-store purchases, there is generally no legal right to return items unless they are faulty. Retailers may offer their own return policies as a customer service gesture, but this is not a legal obligation.
