zusammensetzbare

Zusammensetzbare is a German adjective form meaning that something can be composed, assembled, or combined from smaller parts. It is derived from the verb zusammensetzen (to put together) and the suffix -bar, which yields the sense “able to be …” In everyday language zusammensetzbar is used both in predicate position (das System ist zusammensetzbar) and attributive position (eine zusammensetzbare Komponente).

Grammatically, zusammensetzbar is the base form; zusammen- set up with -bar yields zusammensetzbar. In attributive use it takes a declension ending, for example: eine zusammensetzbare Komponente (feminine), zusammensetzbare Bausteine (plural).
