Zagospodarowanie is a Polish term referring to the organization, use, and development of land, resources, and infrastructure to meet social and economic needs. It is used across disciplines such as economics, geography, forestry, and urban planning and denotes the process of planning, allocating, and utilizing space and resources in a way that aims at efficiency, productivity, and sustainability. The concept covers activities from land-use planning and investment in infrastructure to environmental protection, remediation, and redevelopment of degraded areas.

In Poland, zagospodarowanie przestrzenne (spatial planning) is a specialized area within this broader idea. It encompasses legal and administrative instruments that regulate how land can be used and what kinds of development are permitted in a given area. The main tools are the miejscowy plan zagospodarowania przestrzennego (local land-use plan) and the Studium uwarunkowań i kierunków zagospodarowania przestrzennego (study of conditions and directions of spatial development). These documents set zones for housing, industry, services, transportation, and green spaces, and coordinate infrastructure, utilities, and environmental protections. Local authorities prepare, approve, and periodically update these plans, often involving public consultation and alignment with regional and national policies.

Zagospodarowanie also appears in other contexts, such as zagospodarowanie zasobów naturalnych (natural resource management) or zagospodarowanie terenu (land development), referring to the broader task of organizing available assets for sustainable use and long-term welfare.
