Wywiewy is a Polish term that broadly translates to "drafts" or "air currents." It refers to the movement of air, often unintended or noticeable, that can enter or circulate within a space. This phenomenon is commonly associated with buildings and can occur due to various factors.

One primary cause of wywiewy is the difference in air pressure between the inside and outside of a structure. Temperature gradients can also lead to air movement, as warmer air rises and cooler air descends, creating natural convection currents. Inadequate sealing of building envelopes, such as gaps around windows, doors, or other penetrations, allows air to flow in or out, resulting in drafts. Mechanical systems, like ventilation or heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, can also intentionally or unintentionally create air currents.
