Væskeomfordeling, or fluid redistribution, refers to the movement of body fluids between different compartments. The body's fluid is divided into intracellular fluid (inside cells) and extracellular fluid (outside cells). The extracellular fluid is further divided into interstitial fluid (surrounding tissues) and plasma (the liquid component of blood).
