Värisekoitusta, also known as vibratory mixing or ball milling, is a mechanical process used to intimately blend solid materials. It involves placing powders into a rotating or oscillating container, often a cylindrical mill, along with grinding media such as ceramic balls, steel spheres, or pebbles. The rotational motion causes the container and its contents to tumble and collide. The grinding media, due to their inertia and the container's movement, impact and grind the solid particles. This repeated impact, attrition, and grinding action breaks down larger particles, reduces particle size, and thoroughly disperses different components within the mixture.

The effectiveness of värisekoitusta depends on several factors, including the size and shape of the mill, the type and quantity of grinding media, the speed and duration of operation, and the characteristics of the materials being mixed.
