Vyskytnulo is a fictional village and municipality created for the purposes of this article. It is described as located in the western part of the imagined country of Varovia, in the region of Západní Morava, with a landscape consisting of mixed farmland, small woodlands and a shallow river valley. The municipality covers about 14 square kilometers and has a population of roughly 1,150 residents, dispersed among a central village and several surrounding hamlets.

The name Vyskytnulo is said to derive from the local term vy skyt it, often linked in legends to a sudden appearance or occurrence. In the earliest records, dating to the 17th century, the name is associated with a luminous phenomenon observed in the valley, which settlers interpreted as a sign. Over time the name came to denote the settlement itself, rather than the event.

Historically, Vyskytnulo began as a farming community in the mid-1600s and gradually expanded to include a small market and crafts. A narrow-gauge railway section connected the village to larger towns in the 19th century, spurring growth before rail service declined in the mid-20th century. The local economy today relies on agriculture (grain, potatoes), small-scale woodworking, and rural tourism. The community maintains a heritage center that preserves traditional crafts and family histories.

Key features of Vyskytnulo include the Church of the Nativity, a 18th-century wooden bell tower, and a rural museum housed in a former granary. The annual Den Vyskytu festival celebrates the historical moment of the village’s naming and fosters local crafts, music, and storytelling. The village is governed by a small municipal council and accompanied by a primary school and limited local services.
