Vuositasoitettu is Finnish for annualized or year-adjusted, referring to data that have been converted to an annual basis. It is used in statistics and finance to enable comparability across periods of different lengths or to express a rate as a yearly figure. The term often appears in the form vuositasoitettua or vuodaus, with the adjective vuositasoitettu modifying the noun, for example in phrases like vuositasoitettu arvo (an annualized value).

Calculation and interpretation can differ depending on whether the data represent growth rates or level values. For growth rates, an observed change over a shorter period, such as a quarter, can be annualized with a formula like (1 + r_period)^4 − 1, where r_period is the period’s rate. For monthly data, the analogous formula uses 12 periods per year. For level data, a shorter-period figure can be scaled to an annual level by multiplying by the number of periods in a year (for example, quarterly data × 4). These methods provide approximate annual figures and assume consistent behavior within the period, which may not hold in the presence of seasonality or irregular fluctuations.

Vuositasoitettu data are distinct from kausitasoitettu (seasonally adjusted) data, which remove regular seasonal patterns rather than scale the figure to an annual period. In practice, statistical agencies and economic analyses may present both types to support comparisons over time. It is a common concept in Finnish official statistics, including releases from Tilastokeskus (Statistics Finland), and is used to describe data that reflect an annualized rate or level rather than the raw period value.
