Vorangestelltes is a term used in German linguistics to describe a constituent that has been moved to the leftmost position of a clause, i.e., placed in the Vorfeld before the finite verb. It derives from the past participle vorangestellt (placed in front) and is used as a label for fronted material rather than as a separate grammatical category. The fronted element can be a time or place adverbial, a noun phrase (object or subject), or even a whole clause.
