Vispektroskopia is a scientific technique used to study the interaction of visible light with matter. It involves splitting white light into its constituent colors, or spectrum, and analyzing the patterns of absorption or emission of light at specific wavelengths. This spectral analysis provides information about the chemical composition, physical state, and molecular structure of a sample.

The principle behind vispektroskopia is that atoms and molecules absorb or emit light at characteristic wavelengths, unique to their electronic structure. When light passes through a substance, certain wavelengths are absorbed, creating dark lines in the spectrum, known as absorption lines. Conversely, when a substance is heated or excited, it can emit light at specific wavelengths, resulting in bright lines in its spectrum, known as emission lines.
