Viklingerne is the Danish term for windings, the coils of conductive material wound around a core or laid in a surrounding layer in electrical devices. They are essential in transformers, inductors, electric motors and generators, where they create or receive electromagnetic fields and enable energy transfer or signal processing.

In devices, windings may be primary, secondary, or multiple windings. Transformers use at least two windings to transfer energy by mutual induction.
