verificati

Verificati is a word form that appears in several Romance languages, most notably Italian and Romanian, and often appears in non-diacritic text as well. Its meaning and function depend on the language and the specific orthography used.

In Italian, verificati is the masculine plural past participle of the verb verificare (to verify) and can also function as an adjective meaning “verified.” It is used in compound tenses with the auxiliary avere or in passive-like constructions with essere, and it agrees in gender and number with the noun it modifies. Examples include i documenti verificati (the verified documents) or li ho verificati (I have checked them). Because avere usually governs agreement with a preceding direct object, the past participle may appear as verificati when the object is a masculine plural noun or pronoun preceding or following the participle.

In Romanian, the form verificati (usually written with diacritics as verificați) is the present indicative second-person plural form of the verb verifica (to verify) or the plural imperative meaning “you verify” or “check.” An example in present tense is Voi verificați datele (You verify the data). In imperative use, Verificați lista! means “Check the list!” When diacritics are removed, verificați can appear as verificati in non-diacritic texts, potentially causing ambiguity without surrounding context.

There is no separate concept named verifcati outside these language-specific forms. In multilingual or data contexts, the term may simply reflect normal inflectional forms of verifica- roots rather than a standalone term.
