Verenplasma is a term used in speculative physics and science fiction to describe a hypothetical plasma state with unusually high stability and coherence, enabling long-lived confinement and efficient energy transfer. It is not recognized as a real state in mainstream plasma physics.

In the concept, verenplasma features a strong coupling between charged particles and self-generated magnetic fields that suppress turbulence, a low effective temperature gradient, and a non-Maxwellian energy distribution that preserves energy. Its purported state can occur in high-density, high-temperature regimes with specialized field configurations.

It is proposed to arise when a plasma contains a balanced mix of ion species and a strong externally applied or self-organized magnetic topology, creating a sheath or core where particle collisions are minimized and collective effects dominate.

The term appears in various science-fiction universes and some theoretical papers as a placeholder for discussing improved confinement and energy transport, rather than a proven physical state. Mainstream fusion research does not currently use verenplasma as a recognized category.

In fiction, envisioned uses include advanced propulsion, compact power generation, or weapon systems. In theoretical discourse, verenplasma is a thought experiment to explore stability limits and confinement strategies in magnetized plasmas.
