vanligare

Vanligare is the Swedish comparative form of the adjective vanlig, meaning common or ordinary. It is used to express that something is more common or typical than something else. The form is built with the suffix -are, which is productive for forming comparatives from many adjectives: vanlig → vanligare; the corresponding superlative is vanligast.

Usage evolves primarily in comparative contexts. It appears in clauses with jämförelse markers such as än, for example: Det är vanligare att cykla till jobbet än att köra bil.
