Valtakoneistojen is a Finnish term referring to the power machinery of a state or political system—the network of institutions and personnel through which power is exercised and policies are carried out. The word is a compound of valt(a) and koneisto, and in Finnish usage it is most commonly seen in the genitive plural valtakoneistojen when speaking of “the power machinery” or “the people of the power machinery.”
