vROps

vRealize Operations (vROps) is VMware's monitoring and analytics platform for managing the performance, health, and capacity of virtualized, cloud, and container environments. It provides a centralized view for IT operations, collecting telemetry from VMware products such as vCenter Server, ESXi, vSAN, NSX, and Horizon, as well as cloud endpoints through adapters and management packs. vROps is part of the vRealize Suite and supports capacity planning, performance optimization, and automated remediation through policy-driven workflows.

The platform is delivered as a virtual appliance and can be deployed in scale-out clusters for large environments. It models monitored resources as objects and applies policies to compute health, risk, and efficiency scores. Adaptive thresholds and predictive analytics help detect anomalies early, while dashboards, reports, and built-in collaboration features support operations and governance. vROps can trigger automated remediation via its integration with vRealize Orchestrator.

Key capabilities include real-time performance monitoring, health and risk scoring, customizable dashboards, and alerting. Capacity planning and what-if analysis enable forecasting of resource needs. The product provides optimization recommendations and automated remediation workflows, with role-based access control to support governance across teams and multi-site deployments.

vROps is available in multiple editions (for example Standard, Advanced, and Enterprise), with features that scale from basic monitoring to advanced analytics and automation. It ingests data through management packs for VMware products and through adapters for public clouds such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud, as well as Kubernetes platforms. Integration with vRealize Orchestrator enables automated workflows within existing IT processes.
