Usercentric is an adjective describing an approach that places the experiences, needs, and goals of users at the center of product design and evaluation. In practice it refers to user-centric design, a methodology within human-computer interaction and UX design that seeks to understand who the users are, what they do, and the contexts in which products are used.

Core principles include user research to uncover tasks and goals; designing for real user contexts; designing for usability and accessibility; iterative testing with representative users; and evaluating outcomes against user satisfaction and effectiveness. Common methods are interviews, surveys, ethnographic studies, personas, task analysis, information architecture, usability testing, and rapid prototyping.

Historically, user-centric design emerged from ergonomics and early HCI work, with influences from design thinking and human-centered design. It contrasts with technology-first approaches by prioritizing user tasks and constraints over technical elegance alone.

Applications span software, websites, mobile apps, consumer electronics, and service design. Benefits claimed include higher usability, greater adoption, improved satisfaction, reduced support costs, and alignment with user needs. Potential limitations include the cost and time of user research, the risk of bias in user input, and the possibility of prioritizing current user desires over strategic innovation or business constraints.
