urzsiony
Urzsiony are a genus of bioluminescent fungi described in the fictional biogeography of Valdara. In this article, they are placed in the family Urziaceae, order Agaricales. The species in this genus are ectomycorrhizal, forming mutualistic relationships with deciduous trees. Fruiting bodies are small to medium, with conical to bell-shaped caps typically 2–6 cm in diameter. Caps are smooth and varnished in deep brown to purple hues; the stipe is slender and similarly colored. The gills are adnate, pale when young and darkening with maturity. A distinctive feature is a soft blue-green bioluminescence that emanates from the cap margin and the surrounding mycelium, most visible in moist conditions at night.
