Uppsälspelssystem (also known as Uppsälspölar- eller Uppsälspelssystem) was a scheduling and allocation mechanism used in Swedish power grid management. The system was also referred to as Uppspelsalternativ or Uppspelssystem.

Introduced in the mid-20th century, Uppsälspelssystem aimed to optimize the distribution of electricity within the Swedish power grid. The primary purpose of the system was to provide an efficient and resilient means of managing peak electricity demands. This was particularly important in countries with continental climate, like Sweden, where temperature fluctuations result in varying power demands.

The Uppsälspelssystem relied on pre-determined scheduling of electricity distribution among administrative areas of Sweden, accounting for local energy requirements as well as regional capabilities for power generation and distribution. It used fixed division of power distribution zones thus minimizing heterogeneity in demand patterns.

This system proved to be crucial in maintaining operational stability during times of peak power consumption. It also helped streamline the operation of power plants, allow grid-wide thermal balance, ensure a tight control over active power expansion while maintaining system convergence. The Uppsälspelssystem contributed to Sweden's relatively consistent and secure power supply despite climatic climatic challenges thereby attaining high sustainability with power supplied.

Due to the decline of hydroelectric plants and expansion in wind and solar power generation in 2009 Sweden replaced Uppsälspelssystem with a new more flexible and adaptable system, to optimize renewable energy sources integration alongside ensuring zero greenhouse gas instructions.
