Túlszaturáció, often translated as oversaturation, is a term used in various scientific contexts, most prominently in chemistry and optics. In chemistry, it refers to a solution that contains more dissolved solute than it would typically hold at a given temperature and pressure. This state is unstable and often achieved by carefully cooling a saturated solution without disturbing it. If disturbed, the excess solute will rapidly crystallize out of the solution until it reaches a stable saturated state. This phenomenon is utilized in processes like crystallization and purification.

In optics, oversaturation refers to a color that is perceived as excessively intense or vivid. This can occur in digital imaging or display technologies where the color signal exceeds the maximum possible value or when the human eye is exposed to extremely bright or pure colors. In digital contexts, oversaturated colors may appear unnatural or lose detail, especially in highlights. The perception of oversaturation can also be subjective, influenced by individual color vision and the surrounding visual environment. Unlike the chemical definition, oversaturation in optics doesn't necessarily imply an unstable state but rather a point beyond a perceived or technically defined limit.
