Täysmurtaita, also known as "full bricks" in English, refers to a traditional building technique using unglazed, unfired clay bricks. These bricks are typically made from a mixture of clay, sand, and water, often with added straw or other organic material for reinforcement. The mixture is pressed into molds and then dried in the sun. This process results in bricks that are relatively soft and porous compared to fired bricks.

The use of täysmurtaita is a sustainable and environmentally friendly building method, especially in regions where clay is abundant and fuel for firing is scarce or expensive. The production process requires less energy than traditional brick firing, contributing to a lower carbon footprint. These bricks are also breathable, which can help regulate indoor humidity and temperature, creating a more comfortable living environment.

However, täysmurtaita have a lower compressive strength and are more susceptible to erosion from rain and moisture than fired bricks. Consequently, buildings constructed with these bricks often require protective measures such as wide roof overhangs, plastering, or limewash to shield them from the elements. Their use is more common in drier climates and for internal walls or less exposed structures. Despite their limitations, täysmurtaita offer a cost-effective and eco-conscious building material with a long history in various cultures.
