Työterveyslaitos, or the Finnish Institute of Occupational Health, is a government-supported Finnish organization dedicated to occupational health and safety. It functions as a national center for research, development and dissemination of knowledge related to work-related health, safety, and well-being. The institute provides scientific research, develops tools and methods, and offers expert services to employers, workers and public authorities to prevent work-related illnesses and accidents and to promote healthy work environments.

Core activities include epidemiological and applied research on occupational risks; development of risk assessment methods, health surveillance approaches, and preventive interventions; production of guidelines, training materials and digital tools; and direct consultancy in areas such as occupational medicine, ergonomics, industrial hygiene, toxicology, and psychosocial risk management. The institute also delivers education and professional training for occupational health professionals and collaborates on national and international projects.

Impact and collaboration: Työterveyslaitos works with government ministries, health authorities, employer and employee organizations, universities and research networks to inform policy, support workplace health programs, and disseminate best practices through publications and online services.
